This year over 600,000 people will be released from prison in the United States and returning home to our communities. They will face many challenges such as housing, employment, healthcare and reuniting with family. Many will hit roadblocks to success at reintegrating with the community and leading healthy, productive lives. We believe that providing opportunities for our citizenry to be healthy, productive community members increases our chance at having a safe community. We are asking for the help of formerly incarcerated people to identify and help us assess the challenges and barriers to success they have encountered in returning home. We hope this assessment will lead us to being better able to address the barriers that exist to their success in the community.
