Drug bust is a shoe-in

Members of the Alton Police Department’s Tactical Response Team use a battering ram Friday to enter a house in the 900 block of Harrison Street during a drug raid by Alton police and agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency. It is the latest in a series of high-profile drug raids in Alton. On Friday, Sheldon S. Willis, 24, of the 1800 block of Jersey Street in Alton, was charged in Madison County Circuit Court with unlawful possession of weapons by a felon and unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, as the result of raid on his house Wednesday. Willis was being held in the County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
